Rutherford Sparkling Shiraz
First released in 2004, this label has quickly established itself as one of the standard-bearers for Grampians Estate winning numerous awards and trophies as one of Australia’s leading sparkling shiraz labels. Using some of the best cool-climate shiraz grapes it is made in the traditional ‘methode champenoise’ style culminating in an elegant, rich coloured and full flavoured sparkling wine.
Kelly’s Welcome Cuvee
This sparkling wine consists of the chardonnay, pinot and pinot meunier fruit. Held on lees for about two years, it develops some pleasant yeasty creaminess to go with fresh apple fruit flavours and generous acidity.
Muirhead Sparkling Rose
A new style first released with the 2010 vintage using 100% pinot meunier fruit sourced from near Portland in coastal Victoria. A lovely pink colour and a palate exhibiting red berry fruits, it is an excellent appetiser or an accompaniment to an oven baked salmon.
Garden Gully Vineyard Riesling
Garden Gully’s Riesling block at Great Western is thought to be around 80 years old. Riesling grows exceptionally well in the Grampians region, its producers wines notable for their wonderful lemon lime characters and their natural acidity.
Mafeking Gold Chardonnay
Made from the Mafeking vineyard chardonnay block, these vines were planted in 1989. As per the other wines the fruit is hand-picked. These wines are lightly oaked in French oak, the cool climate site producing an elegant crisp chardonnay.
Stawell Gift Unwooded Chardonnay
Easy drinking style.
Produced in 375 ml bottles, sweet wine, ideal desert wine.
Streeton Reserve Shiraz
Top of the range, it has won many accolades and trophies since it was first released with the 2001 vintage including a Trophy at the National Wine Show in Canberra. Elegant, spicy, cool-climate shiraz at its very best, it will usually age to 10 years and beyond.
Garden Gully Vineyard St Ethels Shiraz
A single vineyard shiraz made from the Garden Gully vineyard at Great Western with shiraz vines dating back to 1878.
The National Game Shiraz
Mid range shiraz sourced from local vineyards.
Mid range shiraz which was 100% Mafeking vineyard prior to 2006 and only part Mafeking vineyard post 2006 due to the impacts of the Grampians bushfires.
The Stawell Gift Shiraz (100% Grampians shiraz)
Third tier shiraz that is a ‘drink now’ wine with good fruit. 100% Grampians shiraz.
The fruit is sourced from Barrett’s Winery at Portland, the pinot vines having been planted around 1984.
