History: The Garden Gully vineyard was planted in 1878. The Barrel Block vines are approximately 100 years old. The grapes for this block were first made into a single vineyard wine in 2013, that wine was rated by Winestate Magazine as 5 stars and was a contender for “Wine of the Year”.

A vibrant nose of jubey blue fruits with some lovely spiciness. The palate is plush and rich with great texture and length and has an abundance of complex flavours.

Rustic and charming, sour cherry and red plum are united with white pepper, hints of star anise and fine oak. Cedar and cinnamon, excellently crafted tannins, sour oak and vibrant acid. Savoury and mineral across the finished. Drinking Range: 2015–2022. Score: 94
