- Mafeking: Granite sand over sandstone. Cool climate being south of the Divide. 700 mm rainfall
- Great Western: River loam. 550 mm rainfall

- Cane and spur pruned. Hand-picked with help from the local Willaura Football and Netball Club. Drip irrigation. Mulch.
